Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano just announced that his country was going to set up a 200 million euros fund by the end of January to help curb human trafficking in Mediterranean Sea and reduce illegal immigration from the African continent. The long-term objective is to strengthen stability and security in Italy and in Europe, and this is according to the statement issued by the Italian government. These funds would be allocated to the the transit countries that includes Tunisia and the Niger, and also those with the largest number of asylum seekers.
